Can’t believe Michael Jackson is gone!!!

June 26th, 2009

I was in my car when i first heard the news that MJ had a heart attack. TMZ was the first to report what happened to him and while most people thought it was not true, i knew that it was true. I did think that they were going to be able to revive him, and was shocked when they pronounced him dead.  Not Michael Jackson!! This is way too soon. He is only 50, I figured he had at least had a good 20 years left.

MJ was a tremendously flawed, and tragic figure. He was uncomfortable with his blackness. So much that he changed the features of his face to look more white. He died with debt estimated to be around 400 million dollars. How he managed that i will never figure out. But i guess this tour he was doing was going to help relaunch his career for the last time and help him get out of his debt.

With that said MJ was the greatest entertainer ever!!! He was able to rock crowds from all over the globe. He sold over 750 million records, a feat that I don’t think will ever be matched. His album Thriller alone sold over 109 million copies worldwide. His music was so powerful it forced MTV to have to play his music videos, even though they never played black people’s music videos. MJ was my favorite artist as a kid and I always loved his music through the years. When they announced he died, i couldn’t mourn his death. I had to celebrate his life in my own way. I started listening to his music and going back into time. Remembering how i would jump up on my parents furniture when a MJ video would come on and imitating his moves. He was truly the greatest entertainer in my book. Michael Jackson was a living legend and now he’ll be a Worldwide legend.

Why We were Doomed by the republicans

March 3rd, 2009

The republicans are now saying that President Obama’s policies will not work and plung us into a deeper financial crisis. The funny thing about that is republicans are the one that started socalizing the banks losses. Tell me republicans what should Obama do? Should the president do what republicans have always done since time and memorium which is to cut taxes for the rich and ignore the needs of the middle class and poor. The republicans talk about Obama being a marxist, socialist, even communist, but the fact is the last republican administration presided over the greatest spreading of wealth in our history. The only problem with that was it was passed upward to the top 5 percent of the country. Today the chasism between the rich and poor is at its largest divide. History as shown us that anytime the rich hold this large of a country’s wealth it is destined for doom. The republicans got us here with the so called trickled down economics and reganomics now Obama is trying to do something about it and their trying to tear him down before he even gets started. REPUBLICANS=PARTY BEFORE COUNTRY, IDEALISM BEFORE COUNTRY

The President and State Secretary Address the State Department

January 22nd, 2009

President Obama, Vice Pres. Biden and State Secretary Clinton had a briefing today to introduce 2 additions to the State Department, George Mitchell and Richard Holbrooke.  Sec. Clinton declared “We must be smarter about how we use our power”,  She then thanked the President for coming to the briefing, in his second day in office, and promised to carry out her duties for the success of the country and the Obama administration.

George Mitchell and Richard Holbrooke were chosen to aid in the diplomatic efforts of the State Dept. They were chosed to be the special envoy to the middle east.

George Mitchell was involved in brokering a deal  for Ireland while serving under Pres. Clinton. He is also a former Senate majority leader,  and mideast envoy and  peace broker for President Bush.

Richard Holbrooke named special envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Holbrooke was Pres. Clinton’s choice for the U.S. ambassador to the UN.  Holbrooke undertook a diplomatic mission to the Serbian province of Kosovo to attempt to negotiate a cease-fire between Serbs and the ethnic Albanian majority seeking autonomy.

Clinton says the President set a high standard and that she “pledges that the dept will give him their very best efforts.” The President then gave his thanks to the State Dept for their service and thanked the Senate for confirming her quickly.  Pres. Obama declared that the United States will not torture, will close the gitmo camp and will undertake a review on how to hold and try the enemies of the country. andWe will also be relentless in the pursuit of terrorists.  He declared that our “actions will be as just as our cause”,  “we will uphold morals and standards in pursuit of terrorism”.  The President pledged to protect Israel, and stated that ” Israel has right to defend itself” and “Hamas must meet agreed upon conditions…, and end its rocket fire”.

The President says a new era of American leadership has begun.” He declared that Israel must pull out of Gaza and that “Americas moral example must be the bedrock of our global leadership”.  George mitchell will be fully involved in negotiating peace in the middle east.  Holbrooke is one of the most outstanding ambassadors to the mideast he said.  “According to the President the U.S will support humanitarian efforts in Gaza and we will aggressively seek lasting peace in mideast peace.”  He believes “we must extend our hand to those who seek peace.”

I’ve over heard people saying that Sarah Palin was a breath of fresh air, but our new President is the real breath of fresh air. He is a no nonsense kind of guy, and he really runs a tight ship. Take for example the executive order he signed freezing pay for people making over 100,000.  That shows good judgement and real leadership in a time of economic crisis.

Basically President Obama is going to take the country in a new direction. We will start with diplomacy and then if that doesn’t work he will build a real coalition instead of going to war unilaterally.

Having Holbrooke and Mitchell in the State Dept as special envoys is like having three Secretaries of State working together. With their experience either of these two could have taken the reins as Secretary of State. We can’t go wrong with this President. The Republicants can’t complain about his picks. All they can do is delay his picks but all of them will be voted in. Trust me this President is going to be remembered as one of the best ever.

SHOULD WE BAIL THE BIG 3 CARMAKERS OUT???

November 16th, 2008

Let’s face it President Bush is going to be leaving Barack Obama a lot of problems to deal with come January 20, 2009. If the american carmakers don’t fail by then he will have to decide to bail them out or not. That decision if he gets to make it will be a defining moment in his first year as president. The issue of bailing out the big three carmakers is one of great complication. Many people feel that the american automotive industry has created this mess for themselves and shouldn’t get any help from the government, after all this is a free market capitalist system we live in. Then their are others that think we have to bail the car industry out because if the companies fail our economy can’t withstand the unempolyeement it would create in the country. The decision is very tough and above my paid grade so I won’t ponder on it any longer. I only know we’ve picked the right person to make this important decision.

What the hell is wrong with some Americans???

November 14th, 2008

Sarah Palin was saying that Barack had a defeatist mentality when it comes to Iraq. Some Americans (Republicants) were probably eating that up. If you read some of these blogs and you didn’t know any better you would swear President-Elect Obama was about to destroy this country. These are the same people that voted for Bush because he was someone they could see themselves having a beer with. These people complain about his energy policy, saying that we need to drill for more oil as a bridge to future energy solutions. They say alternative energy is not ready and won’t be ready till 2025. What if people thought like this when Americans were working on the Manhattan Project. Or what if people didn’t believe in the New Deal. I don’t know whether these fools problem is racism or whether they are just right wing nuts. Either way they’re wrong about what America can do. I for one believe in this country’s ability to rise to the occasion.

The car companies are about to go out of business because they are making gas guzzlers and people can’t afford to pay for the gas anymore. So with the bailout they are GOING to get, (Let’s face it they are going to be bailed out. Barack needs them for his energy plan.) the new administration can force the car companies to make more fuel efficient cars that run on biofuel and electricity. The real bridge to the future. NOT MORE OIL!!!

Henry Paulson has to GO!!!

November 12th, 2008

To help the economy we need a new Bank Holding Company to buy up the bad mortgages and renegotiate the terms of the bad loans. Instead Paulson’s been giving the money to the big corporations on Wall Street to help them make acquisitions. So they are taking the Americans tax dollars to create monopolies instead of helping Americans out of the problem they caused. There should have been stipulations that the companies getting the money should have to reinvest that money in restructuring loans. Instead the companies are given a free pass to do whatever they want to do with the money.

For the people who are complaining that they didn’t get into bad loans and it’s not fair to bail out some and not all. I would say that this idea is a bailout for all. If there are alot of empty houses on your street because of foreclosures, YOUR property value will go down. So yes it is in your best interest to help out your fellow Americans. No one goes into an uproar when we provide aid overseas to other countries. So no one should be complaining if American money is going to help out Americans.

Historic Win for Obama now he must deliver for the people!!!

November 9th, 2008

Barack Obama’s presidential win is a great win for the country and for every american, but on January 20,2009 the new president will face unprecedented crisis in this country. President Obama will face an economic crisis that the country hasn’t seen since the 1920s. The Bush adminstration will leave office with the country in two different wars and several looming foreign policy problems. In the face of all these problems I believe Obama will be a president that will put the right people in position to make the right decisions for the country. Obama’s election has done more good in the world community this past week than any foreign policy effort in the last eight years. Obama has all the intangibles to be a great president let’s hope he is able to use them to his and our benefit. GOD BLESS AMERICA, hope has beaten fear.

LOU DOBBS YOU ARE A FRAUD!!!!!

November 3rd, 2008

Please someone take this angry racist fraud of an anchor off CNN. You know I’m talking about none other than mr. independent himself Lou Dobbs. If this guy isn’t a rightwing republican masquerading as an independent I don’t know who is. I’m watching his show tonight and he has not said one good thing about Barack Obama yet. This man needs to stop calling himself a independent he doesn’t like Obama and it is obvious. I’ve watched his program on several instants and find that he always take an adversial approach when dealing with democrats apposed to republicans. This man is the rat bastard of the week!!! MR. INDEPENDENT MY ASS!!!

ENOUGH OF JOE THE PUMBLER PLEASE!!!!

November 2nd, 2008

The republicans have made joe the plumber into a symbol of white americans against higher taxes. The facts are that from the beginning Joe the plumber has lied to the american people about who he is. He LIED about among other things his true name, occupation, and that fact that he could afford to buy this plumbing business that he works for.  See this is the whole problem with poor or middle class voters, voting against their economic  interest and voting for a republicans. Their is a lot of middle class and poor working people who think they are better off than what they are, and are in a delusional state of denial that Obama would raise their taxes when their not anywhere near the tax bracket that will be taxed.  Joe the plumber is under that delusional that he is making 250,000 when he is definitely not. For John McCain to have brought Joe the plumber to the forefront in this shows his judgement is not sound. Joe the plumber is not a good example of working americans in this country, he is a farce.

COLIN POWELL ENDORSES OBAMA!!!!

October 19th, 2008

Today on Meet the Press former Secretary of State Colin Powell a long time Republican endorse Senator Barack Obama for POTUS. This could be a huge event for Senator Obama that a long serving Republican of Powell’s stature to cross party lines and endorse a democratic candidate. This is not the first republican to endorse Obama, but Colin Powell is the biggest. Colin Powell said and I paraphrase Obama skills and ability to bring people together and fresh vision for the future is what the country needs. Earlier in the week Chris Buckley whose father was the leader of the modern conservative movement also endorse Obama. If you think reasonable people don’t realize Obama is the better choice for POTUS, look at what’s going on in the Republican party. OBAMA/BIDEN 08
